Richard earned his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. While in graduate school, he focused on digital signals processing, computer networking, and embedded communication systems.

Richard served eight years in the US Army, working as a Cyber Capabilities Development Officer and Engineering Team Lead. He was the founding member of the RF Engineering and Development specialty, mapping out career pathways and qualification standards for the Army's Cyber branch. His team's focus area was rapidly designing, building, testing, and integrating Electronic Warfare and signal systems leveraging commercial Software Defined Radios. In his capacity as the Senior Engineer and Team Lead, he was privileged to lead and mentor some of the best soldiers and civilians in the branch, as well as work on impactful and meaningful projects.

As a contractor, Richard has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from embedded systems to GPU-accelerated DSP software. With extensive experience in electrical and computer engineering, Richard is motivated to solve challenging and engaging technical problems in an environment that promotes flexibility and creative problem solving.
